Introducing Focused Mediations! It’s half-day, issue-specific session that helps families work through one key concern quickly and constructively – without the long hours or waiting around in chambers.

Our mediators are able to address the following issues:

• Parenting Time;

• Parental Responsibilities;

• Child Support;

• Spousal Support;

• Property Division;

• Debt Division;

• Jurisdiction issues; or

• Other aspects of family law matter.

Our Focused Mediations includes the following:

• Up to 3-hours of mediation time;

• 30 minutes of pre-mediation call with each party;

• 30 minutes of pre-mediation call with the lawyers;

• Virtual or in-person options; and

• Minutes of Settlement or Memorandum of Understanding.

The flat fees for a Focused Mediation are:

• $1,800 plus taxes (total $2,016) – Clea Amundsen

• $1,700 plus taxes (total $1,904) – Carmen Alvarez Gomez

• $1,600 plus taxes (total $1,792) – Amber Cheema

If more time is needed, then the mediator will charge at their hourly rate.

At KFL we strive to provide cost-effective alternatives for families. The typical cost for a court hearing, even on a simple issue, can cost anywhere from $7,000 to $10,000. Despite these costs, getting heard by a judge is not guaranteed due to a lack of court time and judges. Meaning, most parties are either left without a resolution or forced to return court in hopes of getting before a judge incurring more legal fees. This is an unfortunate reality for many parties who cannot resolve their matters without the help of a neutral third party.  Our flat rates for a focused mediations provide an alternative and a less acrimonious way to resolve matters.
